Brembo recall: After Ducati and Aprilia, now MV Agusta announces recall of its motorcycles

Brembo is one of the biggest manufacturers of high-performance braking solutions. Considering that Brembo brakes are employed in a number of high-end motorcycles, there may be more of such motorcycle recalls.

Brembo, a renowned brakes manufacturer, has announced a recall of MV Agusta motorcycles. The MV Agusta F4 has been added to the list of motorcycles being recalled for fault in the Brembo front brake master cylinders. MV Agusta recall affects 27 units with the problem being Brembo front brake master cylinders. It is now known that the cylinder unit can develop a crack leading to brake failure. The plastic pistons will be replaced by MV Agusta dealers with an aluminium part free of cost.

Earlier this month, Brembo announced the need for a recall of Ducati and Aprilia motorcycles. Aprilia’s RSV4 manufactured during 2016-17 have been affected by the recall. Also, 2017 Aprilia Tuono models have been covered in this in the United States. A total of 1800 Aprilia motorcycles have been recalled.

Ducati also recalled multiple of its motorcycles that have been fitted with Brembo brakes. The company will be recalling close to 8,000 models that have been manufactured between 2015 and 2018. The affected Ducati bikes include the 1299 Superleggera, Panigale R Final edition, Multistrada 1200, XDiavel S, Multistrada 1260, Scrambler cafe racer and Monster 1200. Ducati will initiate this recall starting 15th February 2018 and it will contact the customers of the affected bikes.

Brembo is one of the top names when it comes to high-performance braking and for this reason, several bike manufacturers may have been affected by the recall. Having said that, expect more companies to announce a recall in the coming days.
