Earlier this year, BMW Motorrad announced that it will launch the F 450 GS in India by the end of 2025. Since then, the adventure tourer has been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months, both in India and abroad. A concept prototype of the adventure tourer made its debut at EICMA 2024 in November.
The new 450cc platform holds great significance for BMW in India since this is the second platform to be developed in India by the German brand alongside TVS. The upcoming 450cc range of motorcycles will eventually replace the current 310cc range from the BMW lineup.
BMW F 450 GS: Expected Design
Fresh spy shots of the upcoming adventure tourer have gone viral on the internet yet again. The latest spy pics have reportedly been clicked in Germany. The test mule is concealed by the black wraps but it is clear from the images that the design is heavily inspired by the concept revealed a few months back in Milan. The latest images suggest that the model is closer to production.

Visually, BMW F 450 GS takes inspiration from the larger GS models and looks like a proper adventure bike with a tall stance. In fact, the vertically stacked twin-LED headlamp design with the integrated X-shaped DRL is inspired by the flagship R 1300 GS. Like a typical ADV, the F 450 GS gets a sharp beak up front, complemented by large windscreen, a unique headlamp cluster, and a golden finished front forks.
Unlike the concept revealed earlier, which came with a single-piece saddle good enough only for the rider, the production model seems to carry a larger seat that can accommodate a pillion. The latest spy shots reveal add ons such as knuckle guards, a chunky engine sump guard, a floating tail section, a top box, and an upswept underseat exhaust attached to the test mule.
BMW F 450 GS: Expected Specs & Features
In terms of hardware, the F 450 GS concept received a long-travel suspension with adjustability for the front and rear, while it gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup with road-biased dual-purpose tyres. The concept weighed 175 kg (kerb) although addition of accessories will probably add more mass to the bike.
In terms of features, the F 450 GS will be kitted with a colour TFT instrument panel, and electronic aids such as lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, etc. Powering the BMW F 450 GS is a brand new 450cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder unit that makes 48bhp with the help of a six-speed gearbox.
