One of the motorcycles that stole the spotlight at EICMA this year was the BMW F 450 GS, a scaled-down version of the R 1300 GS. The motorcycle was built ground-up and was showcased as a concept, and would enter production in 2025. Now, going by reports, the BMW F 450 GS could make it to India next year and probably even be made here, making the motorcycle even more interesting.
BMW F 450 GS — What is it?
The BMW F 450 GS is a full-fledged adventure motorcycle built from scratch. The motorcycle is suspended by fully adjustable USD forks at the front, a monoshock at the rear, wire-spoke wheels, disc brakes at both ends, and resembling the R 1300 GS as closely as possible. BMW’s aim with the F 450 GS was to make it as light as possible and as nimble as possible, and by the looks of it, BMW could have achieved its goal.
The production-spec motorcycle will be equipped with electronic nannies to keep a check on the rider such as traction control, dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, ride modes, and a host of other aids. It remains to be seen if these will be standard, or not. The motorcycle will get a TFT instrument console and the concept tips the scale at 179kg.
BMW F 450 GS — Engine specifications and competition
