BluArmor is a company that earned itself a name quickly with a product many Indians aspired to have — Helmet communication devices. Having launched a basic Bluetooth model and later, a more advanced one called the C30, BluArmor was the go-to brand for a helmet com-device in India. Having banked on it and taking feedback, the company has launched its latest device, the C20.
Priced at Rs 9,999, the C20 will sit at the start of the range and until 22 June, the C20 will be priced at Rs 6,999. Deliveries are set to begin from June 18.
BluArmour C20 — What is it?

The BluArmour C20 is a scaled-down version of the C50, featuring the essential bits the C50 has to offer, but dialed down in certain aspects. It features the same mounting position as the C50 – at the rear of the helmet – and gets HD speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, crash detection, two-level noise filters, and more amongst others.
However, if one wants more from the device, they can opt for add-ons from the C50, such as the magnetic dock, and the Wireless T-Stick, which is a joystick that can be mounted on the motorcycle. The whole idea behind the C20 was to offer all the good bits from the C50 at a lower price point.
BluArmour C20 and C50 — Is there a safety issue?

The C50 brought about some safety concerns, especially since it mounts on the back of the helmet, right below the spoiler. Now, BluArmor says that this design was chosen so that it does not affect the aerodynamics of the helmet while also giving it a clean look. Most intercoms mount on the left side of the helmet, while the BluArmor mounts at the rear. This has raised safety concerns during a crash.
To this, BluArmor’s CEO, Sundararajan Krishnan, says “There are no crash test standards for intercoms, especially in India.” This does not mean that BluArmor has taken the easy way out or has just taken advantage of the situation — no. Like most intercom devices, the unit is designed to come off during a crash and if safety norms do eventually come up, the company will be ready to tackle them.
