TVS has done it again, for the second time in a row — lead EV sales. The TVS iQube has seen strong demand in the market, which has helped the Hosur-based manufacturer leave other brands, such as Ola, in the dust to take the lead. Here are the details of TVS’ sales and the top-selling electric scooters in May 2025.
Electric scooter sales in May 2025
TVS, as we mentioned, leads sales in May 2025, having registered sales of 24,560 units. TVS has two electric scooters in its EV portfolio – iQube and X – the latter of which has had some confusion about its sales and deliveries. The iQube also saw a refresh a few days ago, along with a price cut, making it more lucrative.
In second place is the Bajaj Chetak, which was the segment leader until TVS snatched away the crown. In May 2025, Bajaj sold 21,770 units of the Chetak, overtaking Ola Electric, which has to settle for a third. In May 2025, Ola sold 18,499 units. The Ola S1 range has seen a rejig, and the pricing has also gone down.
Ather Energy comes in at fourth place, with sales accounting for 12,840 units in May 2025. Ather Energy also achieved a milestone of surpassing 1 lakh sales of the Rizta, which was launched in April last year. Finally, rounding up the top five electric scooter sales for May 2025 is Hero, having sold 7,164 units. The Hero Vida also saw a refresh recently and with May 2025 sales, the Vida brand holds a VAHAN market share of 7.2%.
