Bajaj to launch new 125cc bike in FY26: Here’s why you can’t miss it

Bajaj aims to boost its 125cc segment market share with a fourth motorcycle launch. Could this new ride join the iconic Pulsar lineup?

Bajaj Auto has revealed that a new 125cc motorcycle is in work and is expected to make its debut in FY2026. In the Q4 earnings call, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, spoke about the importance of the 125cc segment as it contributes over 40% of the two-wheeler company’s total sales. In the Q4 financial results, Sharma said that the company is looking at introducing new motorcycles in other segments like 150cc and 160cc. 

New Pulsar 125cc coming soon?

Bajaj Auto currently offers a wide range of 125cc motorcycles — Pulsar NS125, Pulsar N125, Pulsar 125 and the CNG powered Freedom 125. Sharma explains why the company is zeroed in on the 125cc segment as Bajaj Auto expects a growth of ‘8% to 12% in FY2026’. Even Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is the leader in this segment, but Bajaj is confident that it will increase its segment share. According to CNBC TV18, Bajaj has a 50% over the number three and four companies in the 125cc category. Bajaj Auto’s market share in the 125cc class skyrocketed to 25.5% in 2024 and saw a slight dip of 24% in 2025. 

Current 125cc lineup from Bajaj

Bajaj Auto offers three 125cc motorcycles under the Pulsar nameplate starting with the Pulsar 125, N125 and NS125. The N125 and the NS125 are powered by the 124.59cc engine that produces a peak power of 11.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The N125 and the NS125 are priced at Rs 99,213 and Rs 99,924, ex-showroom, respectively. The entry-level Pulsar 125 comes with a 124.4cc engine with 11.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 10.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It costs Rs 85,178, ex-showroom. 

Then there is the CNG-powered Freedom, which gets a 125cc engine which produces 9.3 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 9.7 Nm at 6,000 rpm of torque. Bajaj claims the Freedom has a top speed of 93 kmph.
