Bajaj has unveiled the new-generation Chetak, now available in two variants: the 3501 and 3502. Today, we’re focusing on the mid-trim 3502. You might wonder, why this isn’t the entry-level model. That’s because Bajaj plans to launch the 3503, which will be the most affordable option in the Chetak lineup. Here are the top 5 features of the Bajaj Chetak 3502 that make it a great value-for-money choice.
Bajaj Chetak 3502: Battery Specs
The new 35 series Bajaj Chetak is powered by a bigger 3.5 kWh battery with an output of 4 bhp and 20 Nm of torque. According to Bajaj, it has an IDC range of 153 km and a top speed of 73 kmph. Unlike the top model, the 3501, the 3502 does not come with an onboard charger and has to make do with an offboard charger. The charging time for 0 – 80 per cent is 3 hours and 25 minutes. The standard version only comes with an Eco ride mode, but by opting for the additional TecPac feature, it will also get Sports mode.
Bajaj Chetak 3502: Best storage capacity
The new Bajaj Chetak features a redesigned chassis with an extended wheelbase, now 25 mm longer, making it 80 mm more spacious overall. The 3.5 kWh battery is now positioned lower in the floorboard, creating additional under-seat storage. With 35 litres of space, the Chetak now offers the largest storage in its class, edging out the Ather Rizta, which has a 34-litre capacity. The top-spec Chetak also offers an extra 5 litres in the glovebox, while the Rizta provides 22 litres of trunk space.
Bajaj Chetak 3502: Features
The 35 Series Bajaj Chetak comes with a 5-inch TFT screen as standard, while the top trim gets a sleek touchscreen, and the mid-level variant features a non-touch display. The smart instrument console is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing you to receive phone calls, SMS alerts, and even control your music playlist. It boasts all LED lighting, including indicators and guide-me-home lights. However, it skips the key fob and comes with a standard mechanical key instead.
Bajaj Chetak 3502: Design and Hardware
Bajaj has kept the design of the Chetak unchanged, and that’s a win, as it still stands out and doesn’t show any signs of aging. The suspension setup remains the same, with front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by a combination of disc and drum brakes, paired with steel rims.
Bajaj Chetak 3502: Price
The Chetak 3502 is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom. The new scooter will take on the TVS iQube, Ather Rizta and the Ola S1.
