Ather Energy showcased a wide range of products at the recent Ather Community Day 2025 last weekend. From concept to brand new production-spec models, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer had plenty to showcase. This included the updated Rizta Z with noticeable feature upgrades.

Ather Rizta Z: What’s new?

Every existing customer of the Rizta Z will now receive an OTA update that activates full touchscreen functionality on the electric scooter. It must be noted that Rizta Z always came equipped with the hardware that supported touchscreen functionality, however, Ather hadn’t released the software patch for the same until now.

Besides the touchscreen, the OTA update also adds Eco ride mode to the package as well. This will allow more conservative output from the motor in order to extend the range from the battery on a single charge. Both these updates will be visible in the scooters over the next few weeks. Other than the software updates, the Rizta Z now gets a new Terracotta Red colour with a super-matte, dual-tone finish.

Ather offers Rizta in two broad trims: S and Z. Both trims are available with either a 2.9 kWh or a 3.7 kWh battery offering a single-charge range of 123 km and 159 km, respectively. Both motors are powered by a 4.3 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that develops a torque of 22 Nm. Top speed for both variants of Rizta is 80 kmph. The first family-oriented scooter from Ather, the company announced that it has sold over 1 lakh units of the Rizta within a year of its launch.

Ather new Fast Charging

Ather also introduced its next-generation fast-charging system at the last Community Day, which is aimed at making EV ownership more convenient with quicker top-ups. The new 6 kW charger is half the size of the current unit yet delivers twice the charging speed on select Ather models, adding up to 30 km of range in just 10 minutes.

Some chargers are also equipped with an integrated tyre inflator to help maintain pressure and improve efficiency. With the LECCS standard now supported by 10 industry partners—including OEMs like Hero Vida and Matter, as well as charge point operators such as Bolt, Kazam, and EVamp—interoperability across the EV ecosystem has taken a major step forward.
