After being spotted testing on Indian roads on several occasions in the past few months, Ather’s latest e-scooter made its official debut. Bookings for the Rizta opened digitally on 29 March at a token amount of Rs 999. The Bengaluru-based startup has launched the Rizta at a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
However, this is an introductory price exclusively for customers who have already pre-booked the Rizta. Ather is offering two trims of Rizta– Rizta S and Rizta Z, the latter offered in variants priced at Rs 1.24 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh ( both ex-showroom).
Ather Rizta specs
The Rizta S comes exclusively with a 2.9kWh battery, whereas the Rizta Z with a 2.9 kWh battery and a larger 3.7 kWh unit option. The 2.9 kWh variants will deliver a predicted IDC range of 123 km and the 3.7 kWh variant will deliver 160 km. While Ather offers the Rizta S in 3 monotone colours, the Rizta Z will be available in 7 colours which include 3 monotone and 4 dual tone colours.

Although Ather is yet to reveal the exact specs of the motor specs of the Rizta, all variants can clock a top speed of 80 kmph. There are two ride modes on offer– Zip and SmartEco. Further, ride assist features such as MagicTwistTM, AutoHoldTM, and Reverse Mode, which were integrated in the 450 series are also present in the Rizta.
The top-spec Rizta Z with 3.7kWh battery comes with a 700W new Ather Duo charger. Rizta owners will also have access to Ather’s comprehensive fast-charging network, with 1800+ fast charging points. All three variants come with Ather’s 5 year optional warranty program, ‘Ather Battery Protect’ that extends battery warranty to 5 years/60,000 kms.
Ather Rizta features
The biggest highlight of the Rizta is its space, both for the on boarders as well as storage. It gets a combined luggage space of 56 litres with a 34-litre underseat storage and a 22-litre frunk. Further, the entire underseat storage can be lifted as a single bag for added convenience. As previously teased by Ather, the Rizta gets the largest single piece seat on offer in any two-wheeler in India offering more than ample room for the rider and the pillion.

Like the 450 series, Ather has packed the Rizta with features such as an 18W multipurpose charger, LED headlights and taillights, a 7-inch fully digital TFT instrument panel, reverse mode, Bluetooth connectivity, a backrest, as standard across the entire range. Other novelties include Whatsapp on dash, call decline with message, live location sharing, ping my scooter, and Amazon Alexa integration with 20 voice commands.
Smartphone integration via Ather Connect, ride assist features, and Ather Battery protection are available with Pro Upgrade. Ather is offering two new helmets with the scooter called Halo and Halo Bit— a full-face and an open face helmet— priced at an introductory Rs 4,999, and Rs 12,999, respectively.
Ather is also offering its proprietary traction control system called SkidControl that seamlessly controls motor torque to mitigate the loss of traction while accelerating on low friction surfaces such as patches of road with gravel, sand, water, or oil.
