Ather Energy is gearing up for its next phase which will kickstart with the launch of its new electric scooter named Rizta. A more family-oriented scooter, the upcoming Rizta is said to be a departure from the current-gen 450s which are more focussed on performance.
The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturing startup confirmed the launch of this scooter earlier last month on the upcoming Ather Community Day. Ather has now confirmed an exact date for its community day, scheduled on 6 April 2024 through its social media handles. Therefore, the Rizta will make its first public appearance on the date mentioned above.
Ather Rizta: What to expect?
Camouflaged test units of the Rizta have been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months. Recently, comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi also shared an image of himself on the Rizta which is completely wrapped in a camouflage.
Previous spy images suggest that Rizta will don a more conventional styling of a “family scooter”. Spy shots have revealed a sleek front apron with a wide and flat seat along with a flat footboard. It definitely looks bigger and more practical than the current-gen 450s. In fact, in one of his posts earlier this year, Ather Energy CEO, Tarun Mehta, had confirmed that the upcoming e-scooter will boast of the largest seat on offer in any Indian scooter.
In terms of features, Ather is expected to equip the Rizta with a touch-based digital instrument console, connectivity via Bluetooth and app integration, music playback, navigation, LED lights, etc. The scooter will roll on spoke-alloy wheels. Other expected features to be offered with Rizta include multiple ride modes, fast charging, etc.
