Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the 450S with a different pack priced at Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom). This comes shortly after the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler rolled out the Rizta S with a 3.7 kWh battery pack a couple of weeks ago. Pricing of the new variant varies depending on the location of sale.

Speaking at the launch, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said, “The 450 series has always set the bar for performance, technology, and reliability in the Indian electric scooter market. With the launch of the 450S featuring a 3.7 kWh battery pack and an IDC range of 161 kms, we’re bringing the extended range previously exclusive to the 450X.”
Ather 450S 3.7: Design & Features
Visually, the new 450S variant with 3.7 kWh battery is identical to the 2.9kWh variant. This includes its sharp and angular stance with its distinctive LED headlamp unit. It also gets the same features with highlights such as 7-inch LCD instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, hill-hold, fall safe, emergency stop signal, voice assist through Alexa, and support for AtherStack OTA software updates.
Ather 450S 3.7: Battery & Motor specs
Besides the new battery pack, functionally the new 450S variant remains unchanged. As mentioned earlier, the larger battery offers a better 161 km range. It gets the same 5.4 kW motor producing 22 Nm of torque offering the same levels of performance. The Ather 450S can clock a top speed of 90 kmph and sprint from 0-40 kmph in 3.9 seconds. As before, there are four ride modes on offer: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport.
There are multiple charging options on offer. For starters, using an Ather home charger, the scooter can achieve a 0-80% charge in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. Owners also have access to Ather’s extensive Ather Grid fast-charging network that has now expanded to over 3,300 stations across the country.
Ather 450S 3.7: Ownership & warranty
Like all Ather scooters, the 450S with 3.7 kWh battery pack comes with the option of Ather’s comprehensive warranty programme, ‘Ather Eight70’, that provides a comprehensive 8-year or 80,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) that guarantees a minimum 70% battery health over the ownership period. Bookings for the 450S with the 3.7 kWh battery pack are now open across the country through Ather’s retail network and online platforms. Deliveries are expected to commence from later this month.
