Aprilia SR150 was launched in 2016 as a cross between a scooter and motorcycle. Backed by the sports scooter’s good market response, the company will launch the ‘Race Edition’ of scooter tomorrow. According to the company’s dealership, the booking of the Race Edition have been started at an amount of Rs 5000. The ‘Race Edition’ design will be same as the current Aprilia SR150 except some minor cosmetic tweaks. The gear less scooter will get a new grey paint scheme with red and green body graphics, gold colour paint on front brake caliper, red alloy wheels and red springs at the rear. The black rubber mat with red elements will be offered as an accessory with the scooter.
The Aprilia SR150 Race Edition will carry the same engine as on the Aprilia SR150, a 154.4cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 10.4 hp of power and 11.5Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated to a CVT transmission. The scooter carries a twin headlamp setup with two-air inlets below it and 14 inch black alloy wheels. Stopping power is offered by a 220mm disc at front and 140mm drum at the rear. The Aprilia SR150 has a fuel tank capacity of 7 litres and has a seat height of 775mm.
The instrument console of the scooter features a twin pod analogue unit for speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer. Along with this, the scooter gets features such as split pillion grab rails, under seat storage and USB charging point for mobiles.
The Aprilia SR150 is sold at a price of Rs 68,000, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Aprilia SR150 Race Edition will be priced slightly higher than the current model. The Aprilia SR150 Race Edition will be sold through the Vespa showrooms across pan India.
