Even though they are not practical, litre-class motorcycles are interesting to enthusiasts, and when there’s a new one, or a special edition, it is worth talking about. The latest is by Honda, which has unveiled its all-black Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, finished in carbon fibre.
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition — What is it?
The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition is entirely made of carbon fibre, including fairings, winglets, air box cover, and engine cover. The bodywork is coated with a UV-resistant matte clear coat to preserve the material and give the motorcycle a stealthy look.
The motorcycle gets all the top-of-the-shelf components like adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes. The motorcycle gets a host of electronic nannies and Honda says that the motorcycle is inspired by its race bike, the RC213V MotoGP bike.
Powering the motorcycle is a 200bhp in-line four-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition is limited to 300 units globally and its arrival on Indian shores is unlikely, as most of these limited edition motorcycles get sold even before arriving at dealerships.
