The Independence Month is set to be a bustling period for the two-wheeler industry with an array of new and revamped motorcycles, scooters, and electric two-wheelers making their debut. Below is a list of the top five most anticipated two-wheelers scheduled for launch in August.
2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350
The Classic 350 is the best-selling motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s lineup and the company will give it some tweaks. The company will retain its unique iconic design and flair, but introduce some new modern upgrades like all LED lighting including the head and tail lamps and the indicators. The motorcycle could now offer adjustable clutch and front brake levers. In terms of engine and mechanicals, it will remain the same and get the 349 cc engine producing 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.Â
BSA Gold Star 650
BSA will mark its return to Indian soil on August 15th. The brand is under the Classic Legends, Mahindra Group, which also relaunched Jawa and Yezdi in India. The Gold Star 650 is a retro classic motorcycle with a 652 cc single-cylinder with twin spark plugs and an output of 45 bhp at 5000 rpm and 55 Nm at 4000 rpm. The 5-speed gearbox gets a slipper clutch and will go up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The motorcycle will get disc brakes and ABS.
Ola Electric Motorcycle
Ola Electric could be unveiling its first all-electric motorcycle on August 15 like the BSA Gold Star. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal shared a teaser on social media and the company could showcase the new electric motorcycle for the commuter segment, but the official is expected to be sometime next year. This will be Ola Electric’s third Independence Day event. The motorcycle looks futuristic and aerodynamic in design, but the company has yet to reveal the motor and battery specifications and the range. Like its electric scooters, the motorcycle will get smart connectivity features with over-the-air updates.
2024 TVS Jupiter
TVS Motor is the second best-selling scooter brand in the country thanks to Jupiter. The scooter is available in two versions — a 110 cc trim and the more powerful 125 cc. TVS is planning to give the Jupiter 110 cc a much-needed update. Based on the teaser shared by the company on social media, the scooter is expected to get a new front fascia with a new connected LED DRL bar. TVS could increase the under-seat storage and introduce new design updates. The 7.7 bhp 109.7 cc engine will be retained which produces 8.8 Nm of torque and comes standard with a CVT automatic transmission.
Triumph Daytona 660
Triumph Motorcycles has announced that the Daytona 660 will be launched in India. The British two-wheeler manufacturer has already featured the sports bike on its official website. Based on a tubular steel perimeter frame, the motorcycle gets 17-inch alloy wheels, 41 mm upside down Showa front forks with 110 mm travel and a Showa mono-shock with 130 mm travel. It sports twin 310 mm front disc brakes and a single 220 mm rear disc brake with ABS. It is powered by a 660 cc liquid-cooled 3 cylinder with 94 bhp at 11,250 rpm and 69 Nm at 8,250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and clutch.
