Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the updated, OBD2B-compliant version of the Dio. The 110cc scooter comes with a host of new features and design updates. With an aggressive starting price of Rs 74,930 (ex-showroom Delhi), the 2025 Dio is positioned to compete strongly in the market. In this comparison, we take a closer look at how the Dio stacks up against its sibling, the Honda Activa, which continues to be the country’s best-selling scooter.
2025 Honda Dio or Activa: Price and Variants
The Honda Dio is available in two variants — STD and DLX. The STD is costs Rs 74,930 and Rs 85,648 for the DLX. The 2025 version is Rs 1,500 more expensive than the older model. It comes in five colour options — Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Mat Marvel Blue, and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.
The most successful scooter in the two-wheeler history, the Activa, has three trims. The STD is Rs 78,684, DLX at Rs 81,184 and H-Smart at Rs 84,685. The Activa has six colour options — Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Black, Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic and Mat Axis Grey Metallic.

2025 Honda Dio or Activa: Features
The 2025 Honda Dio comes with several feature upgrades, including a new 4.2-inch TFT digital display that reads out mileage indicators, trip meters, an Eco indicator, a battery and service due indicator and distance-to-empty. Additionally, it now features a USB C-type charging port, along with halogen headlamps with LED DRLs and taillamps. Alloy wheels are offered in the DLX trim. The Dio gets a Smart Key fob which lets you unlock and start, find the location of the scooter and is equipped with an anti-theft system.
The Activa continues to be equipped with an analogue instrument cluster and multi-functional lock system for ignition, seat, handle and fuel lid. The Standard trim is equipped with a halogen bulb, while the DLX and H Smart variants get an LED headlight.

Both the Dio and Activa are powered by the same 109.51 cc engine with an output of 7.7 bhp at 8,000 rpm, but the former has 9.08 Nm at 5250 rpm while the latter produces 8.9 Nm at 5500 rpm.
