2025 Honda CBR150R CyberRoar breaks cover — Limited numbers to go on sale

Honda has unveiled a limited edition model of one of its best-selling models, the CBR150R. Called the Honda CBR150R CyberRoar, the motorcycle was unveiled in Malaysia and will be limited to just 250 units. So what’s all this about? Let’s find out.

Limited edition Honda CBR150R CyberRoar: What’s different?

It’s all in the looks. The limited edition Honda CBR150R CyberRoar features a special livery, and uses magenta as its base colour with a tiger head graphics on the tank, headlight fairing, and tail section. The Honda CBR150R CyberRoar will go on sale alongside the Tricolor and Silver colour options that are on sale in Malaysia.

Under the fairing, the mechanicals see no change. The motorcycle is powered by a 149.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 16bhp and 13.7Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine in the same state of tune that powers the standard models of the CBR150R. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Cycling parts are also identical, and the Honda CBR150R CyberRoar gets USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with ABS, 17-inch wheels, LED lighting, and an LCD instrument cluster, amongst others. The motorcycle features a 12-litre fuel tank and weighs 139kg, while the seat height stands at 788mm, making it an accessible bike for riders.

Honda CBR150R India launch

Unfortunately, India will not get the motorcycle. That does not mean Honda never tried. The Japanese manufacturer sold two versions of the CBR in India, the 150 and the 250. Both motorcycles were withdrawn after poor sales. The CBR150R faced stiff competition from the Yamaha R15, which still dominates this segment in India.

Honda instead took the other to target Royal Enfield with the launch of the CB350 series, while its premium range includes the NX500, CB 750 Hornet, CB650R, CBR650R, CB1000 Hornet, and the X-ADV adventure scooter, amongst others.

Honda also recently updated its commuter segment with the launch of the Shine 100 DX and the CB125 Hornet in India. The Shine 100 competes with the Hero Splendor directly – India’s best-selling two-wheeler – while the CB125 Hornet competes with the Hero Xtreme 125R.
