Ather Energy has officially announced that the updated version of the 450 will be unveiled on January 4. CEO and co-founder Tarun Mehta shared a teaser on social media, confirming the debut of the 2025 450 range on that date. In an earlier post, Ather Energy also revealed that on January 4, the new 450 will take part in a high-speed track race against two internal combustion engine (ICE) models — a 160cc motorcycle and a 125cc scooter.
2025 Ather 450: What to expect?
In the social media post, Mehta gave everyone a sneak peek at what to expect from the new 450. He said, “The 2025 Ather 450 is debuting at #TrackAttack this week. We’re introducing a bunch of new updates. A lot has changed on the inside, taking the scooter’s performance up a notch, and making your ride even more thrilling and safer. And for those who like to max out their ride, we’ve got an exciting update. Lights, Camera, Track-tion.” ‘Track-Tion’ is expected to be the new and improved traction control system called Skid Control. The electric scooter will be lads of software updates like the new AtherStack 6 software.
Another major update the 2025 450 could get is the Magic Twist feature. This is a unique function where the throttle doubles up for both acceleration and braking. Currently, the 450 Apex has this feature.
2025 Ather 450: Expected price
The current Ather 450 portfolio is available in three variants — 450S and two versions of 450X. The 450S is powered by a 2.9 kWh battery and is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh while the 450X 2.9 kWh and 450X 3.7 kWh cost Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. The 2025 450 will get a price hike from the current lineup.
