The Classic 350 is inarguably the most popular Royal Enfield and the company’s primary breadwinner despite several other enticing options to consider. In one of our recent reports, we mentioned that Enfield will give the second-gen Classic 350, which made its debut in 2021, a small mid-life update. This updated bike will make its debut in India on August 12.

Going by Royal Enfield’s tradition, we don’t expect any massive changes in the upcoming update but the Chennai-based bikemaker is likely to fix the small misses in the modern classic motorcycle. We check what are the expected set of updates for the 2024 Classic 350.

2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 expected updates

According to an Autocar India report, we mentioned previously the most logical addition to the Classic 350 range is expected to be an LED headlamp. LED headlamp was first offered in the Super Meteor 650 in the Royal Enfield followed by the other 650cc models and 450cc range in the lineup. The Classic is expected to be the first 350cc Royal Enfield to get an LED headlamp.

The headlamp from the 650s and 450s are expected to be used in the updated Classic 350. A recent report published by the same website further mentions that pilot lamps, headlight and tail lamp will be LED units as standard across all variants, while the higher variants will also get LED indicators.

Speaking of variants, the report also reveals that Royal Enfield will also make some changes in the variant nomenclature. The revamped Classic 350 range will comprise five distinct variants: Heritage, Heritage Premium, Signals, Dark, and the flagship Classic Chrome. In line with the current configuration, we anticipate that the lower variants will retain a rear drum brake, providing a more accessible entry point for customers.

Additionally, the Dark variant will remain the sole option to feature alloy wheels and tubeless tires as standard, although these upgrades will be available as optional extras for the other four variants, offering buyers a degree of customisation.

Another critical feature addition in the 2024 Classic 350 will be the provision of adjustable levers for clutch and front brake which are expected to be standard offerings in Dark and Chrome variants, and as optional accessories in the lower trims.

2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Mechanical specs

That said, Royal Enfield will not tinker with the mechanical spec of the Classic 350 which is already revered among enthusiasts. The Classic 350 is powered by a robust 349cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 20.2 bhp of power and 27 Nm of peak torque. This potent motor is mated to a smooth-shifting 5-speed gearbox.

The engine is nestled within a sturdy dual-cradle frame, supported by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be carried out by disc brakes at both ends, aided by dual-channel ABS.
