Riding off-road competitively is a budding sport in India, and if one wants to get their hands on capable dirt bikes, Kawasaki is the only manufacturer to offer a range of off-road competition motorcycles in India. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has launched the updated, 2024 versions of the KX85 and the KLX300R in India. Here are more details.
2024 Kawasaki KX85

The Kawasaki KX85 is aimed at newbies to the sport, kids and youngsters. The motorcycle features plastic body parts, no lights (headlight, blinkers, or tail lamp), adjustable 36mm USD forks, fully-adjustable KYB rear monoshock, 275mm suspension travel at both ends and rides on 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels.
The 2023 Kawasaki KX85 is built around a tubular frame and is powered by an 84cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The KX85 gets the Ergo-Fit sizing system which allows the handlebar to be adjusted to fit the rider perfectly.
2024 Kawasaki KLX300R

The KLX300R is a trial bike, more than a full-fledged dirtbike like the KX range, and similar to the KX85, gets most body parts made of plastic. The motorcycle features 43mm USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, 285mm travel at both ends and rides on larger 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.
Powering the KLX300R is a 292-cc, four-stroke liquid-cooled engine that makes 29bhp and 27Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Also, the 2024 Kawasaki KLX300R gets the Ergo-Fit sizing system as well, helping riders to adapt to the motorcycle quickly.

Coming to the most important part, the pricing, one needs to take into account the quality and type of components that these motorcycles come with, especially the suspension, which does not make them affordable to many. That said, the KX85 is priced at Rs 4.20 lakh and the KLX300R carries a price tag of Rs 5.60 lakh, ex-showroom.
