There is no replacement for displacement, but there’s nothing as exciting as riding a two-wheeler, and the Honda Grom is the best example. Small, light, and a 125cc engine making 10 horses is enough to keep a rider entertained, without getting into trouble. That’s been the Grom’s recipe and for 2024, Honda has unveiled its latest iteration of the minibike.
For 2024, the Honda Grom gets new bodywork, giving the motorcycle a mature look, while retaining its compact design. The headlight assembly is redesigned, and the fuel tank looks beefier, while the tail section’s design is minimal. Overall, it gives the new Grom more presence.
The Honda Grom gets a steel frame with USD forks and a monoshock at the rear. The minibike gets 12-inch wheels wrapped in 120-section front and 130-section rear tyre while also getting an LCD instrument cluster and disc brakes at both ends.
Coming to the Honda Grom’s availability in India — the minibike was never sold here, however, Honda did launch the Navi, the next best thing. The Navi is no longer on sale here, and despite the Indian market opening up to newer motorcycles, the Grom coming to India will be highly unlikely.
It will make no sense for Honda to launch a minibike here with premium parts, and if Honda decides to strip the Grom to offer more affordable suspension and brakes, the Grom is going to lose its charm. However, if Honda can manage the same spec components and price it well, the Grom can find a market here.
