Bajaj will launch the updated Pulsar N250 on April 10. The upcoming iteration of the quarter-litre streetfighter will receive some notable equipment upgrades over the current model. These include a fully-digital instrument console, traction control, and some hardware upgrades.
The current Pulsar N250 is available in a single-fully loaded variant and priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Let us look at some other alternatives of the Bajaj Pulsar N250 a prospective buyer can consider.
Suzuki Gixxer 250
Suzuki Gixxer is the only direct rival of the Pulsar N250 in the market right now. With prices starting at Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2024 Pulsar N250 is expected to be more affordable than its Japanese counterpart. However, the quarter-litre Gixxer offers more engine output courtesy of a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that delivers 26.1 bhp at 9300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7300 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a slick six-speed gearbox.

TVS Ronin
Priced between Rs 1.49 lakh and Rs 1.72 lakh (both ex-showroom), the Ronin gets a smaller 226.9cc petrol engine that delivers 20.1 bhp and a torque of 19.93 Nm. Transmission duties are carried out by a 5-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. It weighs 158 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres. The feature list on TVS Ronin includes full-LED lighting, an asymmetrically-mounted LCD instrument cluster with TVS SmartXonnect connectivity, Bluetooth, two ABS modes – Rain and Road, and glide through technology.

KTM Duke 200
One can also opt for a KTM Duke 200 which offers the same level of performance but at a slightly higher price tag. The Duke 200 is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine churning out 24.6 bhp at 10,000rpm and 19.3Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. This motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. It is currently priced at Rs 1.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Dominar 250
Another premium quarter-litre offering is from Bajaj’s own house— the Dominar 250. Powering the Dominar is a 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC, four-valve engine that dishes out 26.6 bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 23.5 Nm at 6,500rpm. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. The 250cc Dominar is priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Pulsar 220F
On popular demand, Bajaj reintroduced the Pulsar 220F in 2022, a year later it was shelved from the market. The semi-faired Pulsar 220F has a cult following and can be a worthy and affordable alternative to a more premium and feature-rich Pulsar N250. Powering Pulsar 220F is a 220cc, oil-cooled engine delivering 20.11 bhp and 18.55Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
