Royal Enfield will launch the 2018 model of Himalayan Fi on 12th January. The updated adventure tourer will come with a new camouflage paint scheme and its few images have already leaked on the web, courtesy Royal Enfield Bullet CLUB. In comparison to the monotone colour options in the present day model, the new camouflage scheme will be a welcome change and it will definitely step up the desirability of the motorcycle. The Himalayan is the first adventure tourer by the company and in fact, there is currently no other off-road bike available in the Indian two-wheeler market at such a price point. Mechanically, there will be no changes to the new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Fi. The motorcycle will continue to get its power from the same 411cc, long stroke engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. Power and torque figures are also expected to stay the same at 24.5 hp and 32 Nm respectively. The motorcycle will come assisted with a 300mm disc brake up front along with a 240mm disc brake at the rear. This time around, the company might offer an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking) with the bike at least as an option.

The Himalayan comes with features like 21-inch wheel up front, tall windscreen, highly informative instrument cluster that includes a geographical compass and place for luggage panniers. Sadly, the bike has been receiving criticism for its substandard build quality and multiple owners of the Himalayan have been taking it to the social media in past to express their dissatisfaction and anger. The launch of the new Himalayan might rectify all those issues and this can be a step by the company to launch an error-free Himalayan to build the reputation of the brand in this regard once again.

The 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Fi is expected to be priced in the Indian two-wheeler market at close to Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom) and hence, it might demand a slight premium over the existing model. All details to be revealed on 12th January.
