Bajaj has updated the Chetak range in India, having introduced a new base variant, called the Chetak 3001, the Bajaj Chetak EV range now consists of four variants — 3001, 3503, 3502, and 3501. For those looking to buy a Bajaj Chetak and confused about which variant to choose, here’s a simple guide.

2005 Bajaj Chetak variants — Battery specifications

The Bajaj Chetak 3001 is the entry-level variant of the Chetak range, priced at Rs 99,900. The Chetak 3001 variant comes with a 3kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 127km from a full charge. And speaking about charge, the 3001 takes about 3 hours and 50 minutes to charge from 0–80%.

The Chetak 35 series (3503, 3502, and 3501) come with a slightly larger 3.5kWh battery pack. The Chetak 3501 and 3502 have a claimed range of 153km, while the 3503 gets a claimed range of 151km with a full charge. Top speed also varies, as the 3503 is limited to 63kmph while the other two models can reach a top speed of 73kmph.

In terms of charging, there are slight differences as well with the 35 series. The 3502 and 3503 take 3 hours and 25 minutes to fully charge with a 900w charger, while the range-topping 3501 variant takes 3 hours to charge fully, owing to the 950w onboard charger.

Speaking about features, the Chetak 3001 and the 3503 feature an LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity with call and message alerts. They also get a music function, along with a reverse option and hill-hold assist. Both variants of the Bajaj Chetak get drum brakes for the front and rear.

The two higher variants of the Chetak – 3502, and 3501 – get a TFT instrument panel with the latter getting a touchscreen dash. When opted for the TecPac, the scooters get overspeed alerts, guide-me-home lights, vehicle immobilisation and music controls, while they also get a disc brake at the front. That said, the range-topping Bajaj Chetak 3501 variant gets keyless ignition and sequential indicators.
