As India’s events industry increasingly embraces digital tools and artificial intelligence, Jodhpur-based startup PeppyPlan is betting on AI-led vendor discovery and event management to modernise a largely fragmented market.
The platform, developed by Apptheka Solutions, is currently in talks with venture capital firms and strategic investors to fund product development, AI capabilities and expansion into new cities.
The move comes as India’s events market continues to grow on the back of rising spending on weddings, corporate events and experiential marketing. Industry estimates project the Indian events market to grow at a healthy pace over the next decade, driven by increasing demand for personalised experiences and greater adoption of technology-enabled planning platforms. AI is also beginning to play a larger role in event management through vendor matching, automation and customer engagement.
Founded by Ria Kachhawaha, PeppyPlan aims to simplify event planning by using AI to recommend vendors based on factors such as budget, event type, location and customer preferences, replacing the conventional process of relying on referrals and manually comparing service providers.
“Planning an event in India is still highly fragmented, with customers spending significant time finding trusted vendors and coordinating multiple services. We built PeppyPlan to simplify that journey using AI while creating meaningful business opportunities for vendors, ” said Ria Kachhawaha, Founder of Apptheka Solutions.
The platform aggregates service providers across categories including venues, caterers, decorators, photographers, makeup artists, entertainers, transport providers and invitation designers.
Besides vendor discovery, it also offers digital invitations and planning tools that allow users to manage different aspects of an event from a single platform. Beyond consumer-facing features, PeppyPlan equips vendors with comprehensive team management and guest management capabilities.
Vendors can efficiently coordinate their teams, assign roles and track task completion, while also managing guest lists, RSVPs and guest communications seamlessly through the platform. This enables service providers to streamline their operations and deliver better event execution.
The startup is also positioning itself as a digital growth platform for India’s event-service MSMEs, many of which continue to depend on referrals and seasonal demand. By providing verified business profiles and AI-powered customer matching, PeppyPlan aims to improve lead quality while reducing customer acquisition costs for vendors.
“Our vision extends beyond helping consumers plan events. We want to enable small and medium-sized event businesses to build a stronger digital presence, generate qualified leads and scale beyond their local networks through technology, ” Ria Kachhawaha added.
The platform has already generated significant interest within the vendor community. Several vendors across multiple categories—including venues, caterers, and photographers—have expressed strong interest in the platform and are awaiting its public launch. These early adopters see substantial potential in PeppyPlan’s ability to streamline their operations and connect them with qualified customers at scale.
The company said fresh capital, once secured, will be deployed towards strengthening its AI engine, onboarding vendors across multiple cities and accelerating market expansion. The startup’s strategy also aligns with the broader adoption of AI among Indian small businesses.
According to a recent Google and India SME Forum report, AI adoption could unlock more than $490 billion in economic value for Indian MSMEs, with digitally enabled businesses reporting stronger revenue growth and improved profitability.
With AI becoming an increasingly important differentiator across digital platforms, PeppyPlan is seeking to carve out a niche in India’s emerging event-tech segment by combining intelligent recommendations with an integrated marketplace for both consumers and service provider.
