?Exhibition of passion, ability to learn, watch and adapt are the essential elements for the entrepreneurs?, said R Ramaraj, TiE Global , speaking at his inaugural note of the one-day session on ‘Funding Your Enterprise & Entrepreneurial Essentials’. T he one-day session was organised by the Chandigarh Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) at CII. The session saw country’s top venture capital experts meeting the region’s entrepreneurs to share the funding opportunities available to them.
Speaking on ‘Entrepreneurship Essentials: Early stage fund raising and mentoring best practices’, Ramaraja further said that courage of conviction and effective execution go hand-in-hand with a good quality human resource. Recognizing the importance of TiE he said that these institutions help the entrepreneurs by mentoring them so that they can avoid expensive mistakes.
The first session on ‘Funding experience of Local entrepreneurs’ was chaired by I.S Paul, chairman Drish group. The panel included Yasho Saboo, CEO, Kamla Dials and Devices Ltd, and Ethos; Atul Gupta CEO, Red Alkemi; Harbir Khurana, Authorgen and Sukhwinder Singh, Director, VISMAAD Mediatech Pvt Ltd.
Yasho Saboo stressed that unlike before, today the most essential quality required for successful entrepreneurship is vision, ideas and talent. Raising capital is no more a problematic issue. The entrepreneurs in the country were forced and compelled to think big and focus on value creation due to the venture capitalists .
?Venture funding is helpful if you are prepared with a good business plan. And are ready for high risks for high returns however one should not view exit strategies negatively? quipped Atul Gupta, CEO Red Alkemi.
Harbir Khurana of Authortgen elaborated that venture capitalist encourage you to think big and bring in clarity on how to build improve and refine ones business.
Sukhwinder Singh, Director, VISMAAD Mediatech Pvt Ltd. stressed that endless passion towards ones work is the major ingredient.
Ajay Kapur, CEO, SIDBI Venture Capital Limited discussed pricing valuation, early stage investor, due diligence and its findings. The last session of the day was on ?Stories from iconic entrepreneurs? where Kunwer Sachdev, CEO, Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd while sharing his success story urged the entrepreneurial community to be innovative. He further said that the spirit of entrepreneurship must never cease to exist. He also spoke on the importance of branding.
