Maytas Infra Ltd, a Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development company, on Tuesday announced that Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has entrusted it with contracts for four rural electrification works worth Rs 222.25 crore in Orissa and West Bengal under the Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana.

Under this scheme, Maytas Infra will do electrification jobs in 4125 villages and thereby contribute in illuminating 2,15,843 BPL houses.

Chief executive officer PK Madhav said the company would be executing these projects on a turnkey basis, and the scope involves design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning in Khurda and Sundergarh districts of Orissa, and West Midnapore district of West Bengal.
