Well into its 51st year, as insurance behemoth LIC celebrates its anniversary on the 1st of September, the Chandigarh division has all the reasons to celebrate the event.

With the business performance touching Rs 244 crore and covering 1,13,134 lives by mid of August this year, the Chandigarh division has catapulted to the 4th position among all 105 divisions of LIC in the country in terms of business performance.

Interestingly almost 95% of sales turnover is from ULIP plans like Market Plus and Money Plus which accounts for Rs 234 crore under 81, 000 policies.Discussing the performance, Mahendra Kumar, divisional manager, LIC Chandigarh division said that the targets for this year are Rs 765 crore of first premium income and policy sales of 3,15,000.

The corporation is also trying to push its plan meant for the BPL families called ?Jeevan Madhur? and has sold 158 plans with a target of 500 for the current year.
