
Skoda Rapid has been updated with two additional airbags in its top variant – Style. While it was previously available with only driver and passenger side airbags, Skoda Rapid Style trim will also come with side airbags at the front, according to a TeamBHP report. The facelifted version of the Skoda Rapid was launched in India in November 2016. It comes in three variants, which come fitted with two airbags at the front as standard. Also, Skoda introduced 16-inch alloy wheels and a reverse camera in the Rapid’s top trim Style in April last year.
Skoda Rapid comes with two engine options – a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 103 bhp at 5200-5250 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 3750-3800 rpm and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel unit that puts out 108 bhp at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1500-2500 rpm. The two engine options are available with a five-speed manual transmission, along with the option of a six-speed Tiptronic on the petrol trim and a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

Skoda Rapid is priced starting from Rs 8.33 lakh and Rs 13.56 lakh for the top trim. Skoda Rapid Style version is priced at Rs 10.61 lakh for the 1.6-litre petrol manual version while the petrol AT at Rs 11.85 lakh. The diesel MT variant is retailed at Rs 12.43 lakh and the diesel AT at Rs 13.57 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
In the Indian car market, Skoda Rapid competes with Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna.
