For every mother, her children’s success is the greatest gift, but for Revathi Kamath, her sons, Zerodha co-founders Nikhil and Nithin Kamath, took it a step further. In a heartwarming and grand gesture, they surprised her with a brand-new luxury Mercedes, making the moment even more special by adding a touch of tradition. The proud mother shared her joy on Facebook and wrote, “My sons today gifted me a new car and here also I received car keys this way—along with a peta and shalu.”

The accompanying pictures were of the moment as she received the car keys while being honoured with a peta (a traditional turban) and shalu (a ceremonial shawl).

The luxury vehicle in the photos was a Mercedes GLS, an opulent full-size SUV priced at over Rs 1.5 crore. The GLS boasts a spacious and ultra-luxurious cabin, state-of-the-art infotainment and powerful engine options.

Nikhil Kamath, renowned for his business acumen and philanthropy and Nithin Kamath, CEO of Zerodha, have often credited their mother in interviews for shaping their values and work ethic. Meanwhile, Nithin Kamath recently received the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) 2024 award. Recognised by a 10-member jury, his innovative, low-margin, high-volume brokerage model has transformed India’s stock trading industry. A self-made entrepreneur, Kamath built Zerodha into a billion-dollar enterprise without external funding.
