IndiGo is going viral again, and this time for a hilarious reason. A passenger took to X to and shared his experience of flying next to a windowless seat. Pradeep Muthu booked a window seat on the IndiGo flight but when he sat on his seat, he realised it was far from that. He took to his social media account and shared a picture of himself sitting on the seat, which is supposed to be next to a window, but instead is a wall is there. “Dei @IndiGo6E I paid for a window seat da.. where is the window?” Muthu jokingly wrote along his post.
The tweet quickly went viral and gathered over 914,000 views leading to a flurry of comments. Many went on to share their own experiences and explained that some aircrafts have these issues due to the structural design. Some hilariously commented that these kind of window seats should be rebranded as the ‘wall seats’.
Many even criticised IndiGo for misleading the passenger thus leading to lack of transparency. A user wrote that many international airlines inform beforehand if the window seat has no window and that IndiGo should do the same. Some even saw the silver lining in all this saying that Muthu got the emergency exit row which gives him more room to stretch his legs.
IndiGo’s response
After Muthu’s post went viral, IndiGo responded to his tweet, requesting him to share his flight details via direct message so they could provide further assistance. Post the airline’s tweet, Muthu informed that he didn’t expect his post to blow up so much and that the airline had spoken to him.
“Sathiyama Din expect this much attention for this tweet. It wasn’t an official complaint… Chumma light hearted ah potten. Some of the responses were hilarious and some mean. Had a word with the airline also regarding this. Gave my feedback. Issue closed,” he wrote.
