Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal marked Odisha Diwas with a tribute to Odisha, calling it the “Aluminium Capital of the World” while reaffirming Vedanta’s deep-rooted commitment to the state.  

In his message, Agarwal emphasised Odisha’s cultural and economic significance, noting its rich heritage and vast natural resources. He highlighted Vedanta’s investment of over Rs 1 lakh crore in the state, stating that the company’s role goes beyond business, focusing on community welfare and sustainable growth.  

Reflecting on Vedanta’s impact in Kalahandi, he said, “It brings me great pride that we could fulfil the dream of bringing prosperity to the region.” He also expressed confidence in Odisha’s future under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath.  

Vedanta Aluminium, a key player in Odisha’s industrial landscape, operates a 3.5 MTPA alumina refinery at Lanjigarh and one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters in Jharsuguda. The company has committed over Rs 25,000 crore in new investments aimed at expanding operations, creating jobs, and advancing infrastructure and technology.  

With a strong focus on education, skill development, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, Vedanta continues to align its growth with Odisha’s long-term socio-economic progress.
