At the 18th Jaipur Literature Festival, a poignant moment unfolded when author and philanthropist Sudha Murthy sought the blessings of famous lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar by touching his feet. This act of respect, got captured in a video that has gone viral, and is resonating deeply with the audiences.

In the widely shared video, Murthy is seen heading to the stage where Akhtar is standing with folded hands. As she tries to touch his feet, Akhtar gently tries to stop her. Murthy still respectfully moves his hands and completes the gesture, to which Akhtar responds by smiling back.

The Jaipur Literature Festival known for its celebration of literature and ideas has commenced from today. The annual literary event is expected to witness participation of artists and speakers from across the world. The five-day event will conclude on February 3 at Hotel Clarks Amer in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.
