Chandra Grahan Date and Time: This year, a total lunar eclipse is set to occur on the same day as Holi celebrations. The eclipse will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, and will create a stunning red ‘Blood Moon‘ visible to people in North America.

What time is the Total Lunar Eclipse?

The maximum phase of the eclipse, where the moon is fully covered by Earth’s shadow, will occur at 2:59 AM EDT (12:29 PM IST) on March 14. A lunar eclipse happens when the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, making the Moon appear dark.

The total lunar eclipse is expected to last for about 1 hour and 5 minutes, with the partial shadow phase lasting up to 3 hours and 23 minutes on March 14, 2025, according to NASA.

The eclipse will be visible from the late hours of March 13 to the early morning of March 14, 2025 (IST).

People in Western Europe, Atlantic Ocean and even America will be able to view the lunar eclipse, but unfortunately it will not be visible in India. But don’t worry!

Here’s how you can watch Total Lunar Eclipse online for free:
