What started as a casual weekend project at Nikhil Kamath’s apartment is now turning into a full-blown cultural and philanthropic movement. Zerodha co-founder shared a video on social media platform X, featuring Sachin Tendulkar and Bill Gates in it.
”WTF started as a group of buddies hanging with a camera at my Bangalore apartment one weekend a month, looking like it’s growing into something else now,” Kamath wrote on X, tagging All Things WTF for their role in shaping the project. He also stated, ”We pick clients who are fun, not the other way round.”
Sachin Tendulkar-Bill Gates collaboration
The video showcases a tennis court in which Gates steps to serve a tennis ball, expecting a regular game, only to find Tendulkar taking a cricket-style batting but with a tennis racket. Gates responds, ”I thought we were playing tennis,” to which Tendulkar replies, ”Bill, I said Crennis-a little bit of a cricket and a little bit of tennis.”
Meanwhile, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also shared a post on his X account, stating, ‘’Sports teaches us teamwork, life demands the same. Crennis was fun, but the real action is brewing with Sachin Tendulkar Foundation & Gates Foundation.’’ His post signals an upcoming collaboration aimed at social causes.
Satya Nadella reacts to the video
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also joined the excitement, ”Looks like I found my next sport! I look forward to trying my hand at Crennis with you both,” he tagged both Sachin and Gates in his post.
Gates has also confirmed his involvement, stating, ‘’It was fun playing with friend @sachin_rt! I invite my friend @rogerfederer to join us for double Crennismatch!’’
Netizens applaud the tie up
One user wrote, ”Crennis. Wow, that’s a cool terminology” and another social media user stated, ”Looks like an amazing partnership in making…hopefully something great comes out of it for humanity.”
The video clip has gone viral and has taken the internet by storm.
