Nicholas Pooran delivered a stunning batting performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he recorded the fastest fifty of IPL 2025, achieving the milestone in just 18 balls.
The explosive display took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, leaving the massive crowd in awe. This effort also marked the second-quickest fifty for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), surpassing his own 15-ball fifty against RCB in 2023.
Nicholas Pooran’s fiery 70, Shardul Thakur’s 4/34 power Lucknow Super Giants to a thrilling five-wicket win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first. “We will bowl first. I think we got to get them out early and look to chase the target. It depends on the team combination; that’s why we want to bowl first,” Pant stated. Confident in their batting lineup, he added, “We gonna chase whatever they score, doesn’t matter.”
SRH captain Pat Cummins expressed confidence despite batting first. “It doesn’t change the way our boys go about it, we always try to be positive… Even going for 10 or 11 runs in an over can be match-winning some days,” Cummins remarked.
