IND U19 vs PAK U19 Asia Cup Final HIGHLIGHTS: India were all out for 156 in their pursuit of 348 against Pakistan in the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 final at the ICC Academy on Sunday, losing by 191 runs. India started well in response to Pakistan’s imposing 347 but later lost wickets in quick succession, after which they could not recover.
Ayush Mhatre-led side were up against a stern test against a Pakistan unit that dominated large phases of the first innings riding on Sameer Minhas’ 172 off 113 but completely misfired on the day after a dominant run in the tournament.
India opted to bowl first
After opting to bowl first, India struck early with Henil Patel removing opener Hamza Zahoor inside the powerplay. However, Pakistan wrestled control through a majestic knock from Sameer Minhas, who smashed 172 off 112 balls in a display of power and composure. Minhas added 92 with Usman Khan and followed it up with a crucial 137-run partnership alongside Ahmed Hussain, keeping India under sustained pressure.
Late comeback by India with the ball
India found their way back into the contest late on, triggering a mini-collapse that saw Pakistan slide from 302/3 in the 43rd over to 327/8. Khilan Patel was the overall standout, dismissing both Usman and Hussain. But in this phase it was Devendran who was the wrecker-in-chief as India picked up quick wickets to prevent the total from spiralling further.
In response, India started well but lost wickets quickly, failing to recover from an early jolt. India’s number 10 batter Devendran ended up as their top run-getter, scoring 36 but it was just not enough from a batting line up featuring the likes of Vaibhav Suryavanshi (26 off 10), Mhatre (2 off 7) and Aaron George (16 off 9).
