India vs Pakistan U19 Asia Cup Final HIGHLIGHTS: IND succumb to 191-run defeat after Sameer Minhas’172

Pakistan finish with a formidable 347 despite stumbling at the death, sliding from 302/3 to 327/8 in the closing overs before a brief stand pushed the total up.

Sameer Minhas was the standout with a sublime 172 off 113 balls, batting with remarkable composure and authority on a flat surface. His partnerships- 92 with Usman Khan and 137 with Ahmed Hussain- laid the platform for the big total.

India struggled for control in the field for large periods but struck late to peg things back. A record chase now awaits India, though the presence of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi keeps hopes alive.

This passage of play completely belonging to India. Abdul Subhan tries to hit it on the off side but only manages to hit it straight to the fielder. Third wicket in the final for Devendran. PAKU19- 327/8 in 46.4 overs. PAK have slipped from 302/3 to 327/8.

Pakistan- 325/7 after 46 overs. Niqab Shafiq- 5* off 4, Abdul Subhan- 1* off 1.

Niqab Shafiq only manages an edge but it goes for FOUR and runs matter at this stage, no matter how they come. Good little comeback by the Indians towards the backend of this innings.

Edge through to the keeper. Mohammad Shayan falls and it’s Henil Patel who gets his second wicket. Pakistan- 319/7 in 45.1 overs.

It’s a low full toss from Deepesh Devendran and Farhan Yousaf ends up losing his stumps. Goes across the stumps to execute a scoop but only manages an edge onto the stumps. PAK- 319/6 in 44.6 overs.

Huzaifa Ahsan falls for a duck. PAK- 307/5 in 43.4 overs. Kanishk Chouhan gets a wicket in his final over.

This is one innings that will be etched in record books. Minhas tries to play with the same tempo but only manages to hit this straight up in the air, perhaps deceived by the variation in pace. Kanishk Chauhan takes the catch and Devendran strikes for IND. Minhas out for 172 off 113. PAK- 302/4 in 42.5 overs.

Minhas smashes two sixes off him. Then he changes his length and Minhas still finds a boundary.

What an occasion to get to the landmark. Gets there with a boundary off 105 balls. What an innings at the big stage.

Ahmed Hussain falls. He just hit a six previous ball, tries to be aggressive but only manages to hit a ball wide outside off straight to midwicket where Mhatre takes an easy catch. Khilan Patel strikes again for India. Hussain out for 56 off 72, PAKU19- 260/3 in 37.3 overs.

Half-century for Ahmed Hussain. Gets there with a single off the the bowling of Henil Patel. PAKU19- 254/2 after 37 overs.

Minhas is far from done yet. He is smashing boundaries, he is not looking tired and Pakistan are in a position to probably bat India out of this game. Not a bad toss to lose for Pakistan this, in retrospect. PAK- 240/2 after 35 overs. Sameer Minhas- 133* (90), Ahmed Hussain- 44* (61).

Khilan Patel has been the best bowler for India on the day. He has bowled 7 overs, conceded 26 runs and scalped a wicket.

And breathe! Another passage of play that has been dominated by Pakistan. They move to 225/2 after 32 overs. Ahmed Hussain- 38* off 50, Sameer Minhas- 124* off 83.

It’s a shot that can be best described as something between a pull and a flick that flies over the on side fence for a SIX. What a knock this is from the right-handed batter. Kishan Kumar Singh the bowler on this occasion but every bowler has been met with the same fury from Manhas.
