In a gripping IPL 2025 encounter, Rajasthan Royals (RR) edged past Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six runs in a nail-biting finish. However, beyond the action-packed contest, it was an off-field moment that truly captured the hearts of Indian cricket fans.
Following CSK’s narrow defeat, former skipper MS Dhoni was seen walking up to Rajasthan Royals’ head coach Rahul Dravid, who is currently recovering from a leg injury. Dravid, who sustained the injury during a local match in Bengaluru before the IPL, has only recently transitioned from a wheelchair to crutches. Despite the disappointment of the loss, Dhoni took the time to check on his former India teammate, sharing a lighthearted exchange that left fans reminiscing about the golden days of Indian cricket.
The camaraderie between the two legends, who once played together for India, was a heartening sight. Soon after, Dhoni was seen gesturing to other young CSK teammates to come and greet Dravid, who is also the coach of Rajasthan Royals.
Hope the few fellow RR fans stop the dumb agenda against legend of the game Rahul Dravid. 🤫 pic.twitter.com/srngE7b4Xs

Earlier in the match, Nitish Rana’s blistering 81 off 36 balls powered Rajasthan Royals to a challenging total of 182 in 20 overs. CSK remained in the hunt for most of the chase but fell short in the final overs.
For Rajasthan Royals, the victory marked their first of IPL 2025, celebrated with extra significance in Guwahati. It was also a landmark occasion for Riyan Parag, who captained RR to victory in front of his home crowd.
