The Centre has announced that only farmers who have completed registration will be eligible for the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme benefits. This means that the upcoming 20th installment, scheduled to be released on June 20, will only be transferred to the accounts of registered farmers.

Despite being aware of this requirement, many farmers have still not completed their registration process. Out of 66,900 eligible farmers in the tehsil area, only 35,429 have registered so far, as per a media report. The remaining 30,580 farmers could miss out on the next installment.

Farmer registry now mandatory

The government has made it mandatory for farmers to complete the farmer registry process to access not only the PM-Kisan benefits but also all other schemes run by the agriculture department. Still, nearly 47% of farmers in the region have not registered.

Farmers can complete the registration process through the ‘Farmer Registry UP’ mobile app, the official Farmer Registry portal, or by visiting any public service center. To register, farmers must have their Khatauni’s Gata number and Aadhaar card details. The process can also be done through Panchayat Assistants, Lekhpals, Agricultural Technical Assistants, or Krishi Sakhis.
