HDFC Bank downtime: India’s largest private sector bank HDFC Bank has informed its customers about its upcoming system upgrade. The bank has said that some of its services will be affected by downtime on July 13 from 3 AM to 4 PM.
According to the communication shared by the bank with its customers, this technical upgrade is to increase the speed of the bank’s servers to make itself capable of handling more traffic.
“We wish to inform you about an upcoming system upgrade at HDFC Bank scheduled for Saturday, 13th July 2024. This initiative is part of our commitment to enhance your banking experience by improving performance speed, expanding our capacity to handle high traffic and boosting overall reliability,” the bank said in its intimation.
Scheduled System Upgrade Details:
Start: 3:00 AM on Saturday, 13th July 2024
End: 4:30 PM on Saturday, 13th July 2024
“We have scheduled this upgrade on a second Saturday, a bank holiday, to minimize inconvenience. Yet, we advise you to plan your banking activities in advance and appreciate your cooperation as we enhance our systems to serve you better,” HDFC Bank advised its customers.
“Given the scale of this upgrade, please be aware that some of our banking and payment services will be temporarily paused during this system enhancement period (13 and a half hours).”
List of HDFC Bank Services to be impacted:
UPI Services – Unavailable from 3 AM to 3.45 AM and 9.30 AM to 12.45 PM.
ATM & Debit Cards – The service will be available with restricted limits from 3 AM to 3.45 AM and 9.30 AM to 12.45 PM.
Netbanking and Mobile banking – These services will remain partly affected from 3 AM to 3.45 AM and 9.30 AM to 12.45 PM.
Other Fund Transfer Modes – IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, HDFC Bank A/C to A/C online transfer or branch transfer won’t be available from 3 AM to 12.45 PM on July 13.

These services will remain unaffected:
All Credit Card services & transactions will continue to work with no impact during the system upgrade. Online transactions, PoS transactions, balance enquiry, set/change pin, block/hotlist card services will be available.
NEFT/RTGS (Inward) – Credits Received will be processed with a delay post-completion of the system upgrade.
