DA Hike in Chhattisgarh: Ahead of Diwali, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday announced that the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the state government employees will be increased by 4%, taking it to 50% of the basic salary. The hike will be effective from October 1.

The decision is set to benefit nearly 3.9 lakh state government employees.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of Chhattisgarh wrote, in Hindi, “Chief Minister’s big announcement before the cabinet meeting – Dearness Allowance increased by 4%.”

The post further said, “The CM has given a Diwali gift to state employees, announcing an increase in the dearness allowance from 46% to 50%. State employees will benefit from this revised dearness allowance starting October 1.”

Earlier in March this year, the Sai government hiked the dearness allowance, bringing it to 46% of the basic pay.

Not just Chhattisgarh, the Himachal Pradesh government has too made a significant gesture for state employees by granting a 4% hike before Diwali, benefiting approximately 180,000 employees and 170,000 pensioners.

Meanwhile, according to a report, central government employees are also likely to receive a DA hike ahead of the festive season as the Modi government could likely announce a 3% raise in dearness allowance (DA) ahead of Diwali. This would mean over 1 crore central government employees and pensioners will receive their October month’s pay with increased DA along with three months’ arrears, the anticipation of which is surely generating huge cheers among the workforce.
