7th Pay Commission News: After the Dearness Allowance for central government employees was hiked to 50% in the last revision earlier this year, 13 allowances were automatically revised upwards by 25% over the existing rates. Now, one more allowance, called the Road Mileage Allowance, has been revised for eligible beneficiaries.
Central government employees in India are eligible for the Road Mileage Allowance (RMA) based on the type of transportation they use and the city they live in. Additionally, different allowances apply to different designations, and not all allowances are available to every central government employee. The Centre has now revised the Road Mileage Allowance for officers in the Indian Army.
Consequent upon revision of DA rate to 50%, the Competent Authority has approved following revised rates of RMA from immediate effect with no retrospective effect.
