The 1-hour special market session on Diwali day will be held today. The Muhurat trading session will start at 1:45 pm and end at 2:45 pm. This special session will be conducted both on NSE and BSE. Even the MCX will participate in this special 1-hour trading session. 

According to the exchanges, all trades executed during Muhurat session would have regular settlement obligations. As per the NSE circular, the settlement schedule for trades executed on account of Muhurat Trading Session scheduled on October 21 is as given below:

On account of Muhurat Trading Session, multiple settlements have been scheduled on October 23, 2025. The exchanges have clarified that even for commodity derivatives, all trades executed in this Diwali Muhurat trading session shall result in settlement obligations.

Trading holiday on October 22

Just to remind our readers, the markets shall remain closed for trading on October 22. Apart from NSE and BSE, commodity exchanges too would observe trading holiday on October 22. 

The MCX will remain closed for the 10 am – 5 pm session on October 23. However, it will be open for the evening session starting at 5 pm. The NCDEX will stay shit for the entire day.
