The global markets are trading on a flat note. The GIFT Nifty is trading 9 points, or 0.03%, lower at 26,326. Here are domestic as well as key global cues to watch before the market opens that include crude oil prices, FII and DII data, business groups that most affect, sectoral performance, etc.
Earlier on Friday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 153 points or 0.59% higher at 26,186, while the BSE Sensex surged 447 points or 0.52% to close at 85,712.

Asia Markets
The Asian markets opened mostly higher on Monday morning. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 rose 0.18%, while the Topix added 0.15%. South Korea’s Kospi edged 0.2% higher, and the small-cap Kosdaq traded 0.37% higher. Futures for Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index pointed to a higher open, trading at 26,121, against the index’s previous close of 26,085.08.
US markets
The US markets closed Friday on a higher note on lifted sentiments of a rate cut after inflation data came lower. The S&P 500 closed 0.19% higher at 6,870.40. The Nasdaq Composite increased 0.31% to settle at 23,578.13, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 104.05 points, or 0.22%, to end the day at 47,954.99.
US Fed rate cut pending in December
The US Federal Reserve is most likely to slash key interest rates next week despite deep divisions among its officials on the direction of the US economy, reported FT.com, citing leading academic economists. The Federal Open Market Committee will meet on Tuesday, with most of investors expecting the US Fed to cut the lending rates by a quarter point for the third meeting in a row the following day.
US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs on India visit
Allison Hooker, the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, is on a five-day visit to India. She will talk about advanced bilateral strategic and economic ties. Hooker’s trip to New Delhi and Bengaluru starts from Sunday and comes amid increasing strain in ties between the two countries after the US imposed a 50% tariff on Indian goods, including 25% levies for India’s procurement of Russian crude oil.
US dollar
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.05% lower at 98.94 on Monday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee appreciated 0.01% to close at 89.98 to the dollar on December 05.
Crude oil
The crude oil prices traded on a lower note on Monday morning. WTI crude prices were trading at $60.07, down by 0.02%, while Brent crude prices were trading at $63.73, a fall of 0.03%.
FII, DII data
Foreign institutional investors (FII) were the net sellers of shares worth Rs 438.90 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DII) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 4,189.17 crore on December 05, 2025, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.
Gold rate today
The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 1,30,300 per 10 grams, near its all-time high. The price of gold has risen by 0.35% from yesterday. The 24 kt gold rate today in Delhi is Rs 1,30,080 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today is Rs 97,560.
