Maharashtra has issued revenue recovery certificate orders against three more sugar mills in the state, taking the total number of factories under RRC orders to nine.
According to Vipin Sharma, state sugar commissoner, RRC orders have been issued against Chopda Cooperative Sugar Factory at Jaglaon, Manganga Cooperative Sugar Factory at Sangli and Saibaba Sugar Factory (Private) in Latur.
Cane arrears in Maharashtra have come down to R3,100 crore from R3,800 crore and the fresh hearings are in progress at the sugar commissionerate for some 40 factories. The state’s average payment position is around 84%.
