Salman Khan can defy gravity and bullets – Minutes into Tiger 3, it gets established once again. We get to see that the agents are heading for a project called ‘Mission Timepass’ to save their partner, played by Ranvir Shorey. Of course, Tiger saves him from the terrorist. Salman Khan’s power-packed entry and action scenes will instantly set your mood right.

Tiger 3’s plot revolves around the India-Pakistan relationship and the underground spy war. Avinash aka Tiger is on a mission to heal ties and prevent a military coup and the assassination of the Pakistani prime minister. He fights Pakistani agent Aatish (Emraan Hashmi), who wants to take over the country and end all hopes of peace with its neighbouring country.

Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 will release in theatres on November 12

Emraan Hashmi shines as antagonist in the film – He is just brilliant. Katrina Kaif’s stunts will leave you appreciating her. The hard work is visible. The Turkish hamam scene where Zoya is in her towel fighting a deadly Chinese agent and martial arts instructor (played by American stuntwoman-actress Michelle Lee) stands out. It seems as if the spotless towels have added extra layers to the film.

We also witness how Tiger feels Zoya is working against him, only to find that she was doing it all to save their son Junior from Aatish, who wanted nuclear codes from Russia. Zoya-Tiger steals it for them but eventually ensures to kill him.

Salman Khan is aware of the new entrants in the otherwise solo film and his performance is sharper in Tiger 3. It feels that he is aware of the responsibilities he shoulders.  The third installment of Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 is more verbose and dialogue-heavy.

The big-ticket moment of the film for which everyone has been waiting comes post-interval – We get to see Pathaan and Tiger displaying their star power and acting skills to full glory. That’s not all, later, in the post-credit, we get to see Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) on another mission. It is not clear if he’ll be playing the protagonist or the antagonist in the next film, but we are already waiting for it.

What didn’t work for me:

I agree that Bhai has a massive following and they like everything he does but as an audience, I expect logic in the films. One cannot defy gravity. Period.

The pressure of waiting for Shah Rukh Khan (Pathan) and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), probably killed the vibe for me and also the people around me in the theatre.

The India-Pakistan plot feels a bit overdone and the idea of an Indian agent going all out to save the lives of the neighbouring country’s PM feels a tad bit stretched.

Verdict:

Tiger 3 is a must-watch, especially, if you are Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan fans. The slow but progressive plot will keep you glued to the screen.
