War 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, War 2 was one of the most awaited films of the year. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the YRF spy thriller also features Kiara Advani in a key role. Released on 14 August, the film clashed with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. While it had a strong opening, collections have slowed down over the week.

War 2 box office collection day 8

The film has maintained a steady, though modest, run at the Indian box office. On its eighth day, War 2 earned Rs 5 crore, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 204 crore, according to trade analyst Sacnilk. The film opened to a strong Rs 52 crore on Day 1 and saw a 10 per cent jump on Day 2, collecting Rs 57.35 crore, its highest single-day total so far. However, weekday collections dipped sharply, with the film earning in single-digit crores as audience turnout slowed.

War 2 city-wise performance

On Thursday, 21 August, War 2 saw low to average numbers across major Indian cities. The Hindi version recorded 8.59 per cent overall occupancy. Chennai had the highest at 17.75 per cent, followed by Jaipur at 15 per cent and Bengaluru at 14.75 per cent. Meanwhile, Mumbai, NCR, Pune, and Kolkata recorded 8–10 per cent occupancy, showing that audience turnout was low during weekdays.

War 2 star cast and story

War 2 continues the YRF Spy Universe after Pathaan and the Tiger films. Hrithik Roshan returns as Kabir, with Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in major roles. The film ends with a post-credits scene teasing Alpha, featuring Bobby Deol. Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, will release in December.

Will War 2 cross the Rs 300 crore club by the end of second week?

As per trade analyst Sacnilk, War 2 still has potential to grow, especially in multiplexes and smaller cities over the weekend. While it hasn’t matched the explosive opening of other YRF spy films, the combination of Hrithik’s star power, Jr NTR’s fan base, and franchise excitement could sustain steady collections in the coming weeks.

With a cumulative total of Rs 204 crore by Day 8, War 2 has firmly entered the Rs 200 crore club, though audience turnout suggests the film may now rely on weekend growth and word-of-mouth to push its numbers further.
