On the day Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was sentenced to 5 years in jail in the hit and run case in which 1 person died and 4 others were injured, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya decided to take to Twitter to voice his protest – he ended up venting his anger in a shocking manner that evoked outrage in all quarters.

Abhijeet sought to clarify the controversial comments last night in a tweet, saying he meant to say, “A Human Dsnt deserve to die a Dog’s Death”. He rejected demands for withdrawing the tweets in which he makes a reference to dogs.

Abhijeet later apologised for the words he used in his earlier tweets. “I am extremely apologetic for the words I used in my tweets. It was in the heat of the moment, but all I’m trying to say is that I am angry and sad that our fellow humanbeings get this kind of death,” he said in a detailed clarification that accompanied his tweet– “A Human dsnt deserve to die a Dog’s Death”.
“If people want to mock me or think I’m wrong then you can. It’s your right like it’s my right. Again I’m sorry for the words I used,” he added.
The singer also said that he has actually raised an important issue concerning the lives of homeless people. He made following tweets today morning:

A Jaipur-based activist Suraj Soni, meanwhile, gave a written complaint to Jhotwara police station seeking an FIR against the singer for his comments.
“We have not registered any FIR so far and have kept the complaint for a probe,” Shiv Kumar Bharadwaj, SHO Jhotwara police station told PTI.
The complainant said that the singer has hurt sentiments of the people with his comments and legal action against him was necessary.
