Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 3: The Rishab Shetty film has made a comeback on the big screen after a 25 per cent decline on its first Friday. Showing stellar performance at the box office, Kantara: Chapter 1 has crossed Rs 160 crore. After dominating theatres with a nearly Rs 62 crore opening day, the Rishab Shetty action-thriller entered the Rs 100 crore club in just two days.
The third day in theatres for Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 was also a big success with a Rs 55 crore collection. This 20% jump took the total Kantara box office collection to Rs 162.85 crore. With a stellar record on its first Saturday, the numbers are expected to rise and break several records for the Kannada film industry.
As per an HT report, this Rishab Shetty film is set to be screened at the Rashtrapati Bhawan today. Members of the Kantara Chapter 1 cast, including Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, and producer Chaluve Gowda, will also be present at the Presidential residence on Sunday, October 5.
In comparison to the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2025, Kantara Chapter 1 has surpassed Varun Dhawan’s Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari by a significant margin. But, it has also crossed the opening day record set by Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, Saiyaara, and Pawan Kalyan’s OG.
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 3: Record-breaking cinema
Kantara Chapter 1 had an overall occupancy rate of 86.63% in Kannada, 67% in Telugu, and 69.14% in Tamil. Dominating these audiences, the Rishab Shetty film has also become India’s highest-grossing and fastest to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. Surpassing the lifetime box office totals of several films, Kantara Chapter 1 beat Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 110 crore) and Ram Charan’s Game Changer (Rs 131 crore) in just three days.
This action-thriller prequel is also the fourth Kannada film ever to cross Rs 150 crore. It also set the record for selling the highest number of tickets from a single platform. Over 1.28 million tickets were sold on BookMyShow in the first 24 hours. Overseas, Kantara Chapter 1 has grossed Rs 22 crore in its initial days, setting its name in the history of regional films.
