Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 2: Rishab Shetty’s action-thriller has become a huge hit in just two days. Entering the Rs 100 crore club, Kantara: Chapter 1 grossed Rs 45 crore on its first Friday after a record-setting Rs 61.85 crore opening day. Quickly climbing the charts, the film is one of the fastest to cross the Rs 100 crore mark since its theatrical release.

Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 is the prequel of Kantara, which made its theatrical debut in 2022. Grossing more than Rs 300 crore during its lifetime, the 2025 Kantara beat its entire first week record on Day 1. As Rishab Shetty returns to the big screen making huge waves, the film is expected to gross another Rs 100 crore over the weekend, as per trends. However, there was a significant drop from Rs 61.85 crore to Rs 45 crore, taking the total collection to Rs 106.85 crore.

Kantara: Chapter 1 also shared its release with Bollywood’s ‘Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari’. Starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, the movie failed to gain the momentum as big as the Rishab Shetty film. Collecting Rs 5 crore on its second day, the formula film saw a 43% decline, just in its second day of release. Interestingly, Dhanush’s rural drama ‘Idli Kadai’ has collected a strong Rs 21.64 crore by day 3.

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 2: Kannada, Tamil, Telugu occupancy soars

With the maximum screenings scheduled in Bengaluru, the occupancy soared at 86% across 955 shows in the city. Overall, Raichur, Shivamogga, and Tumkur were the highest audience-drawing regions for Kantara 2 in Kannada.

In Telugu, Kantara 2 was also a popular choice among the Hyderabad audience. With more than 500 shows scheduled, Kantara 2 filled nearly 70% of the seats. An equal share was observed in Bengaluru and Vijayawada from the Telugu audience. Kantara Chapter 1 had an overall 58.93% occupancy rate for Tamil. Seeing past trends, Kannada was the highest-grossing language for the Rishab Shetty directorial on Day 1 with a Rs 19.6 crore collection. It was followed by Telugu (Rs 13 crore) and Hindi (Rs 18.5 crore).
